Villa SH is a single-Family house close to Bergen, Norway. The house has two important considerations: Scale and materiality in a culturally historic environment. The house is located in a historical small-house area with high cult-historical value. To adapt to this consideration, we use the same materials as the surrounding buildings. Wood and concrete, both exterior and interior. To create a equal building size for the new and old we divided the building in two. The main goal is to blend the new house into its surroundings. By dividing the building, we also create a private garden. This was particularly important because of the exposed surroundings. The two buildings are connected by a glass corridor and the living rooms are in front of the house towards the urban area and the fjord.
